Common Chord, formerly known as River Music Experience (RME), is a community music organization that improves are community through the power of music. Common Chord produces exciting concerts and live music experiences that bring people together and activate public spaces, and creates inspiring, accessible, and inclusive educational opportunities for kids throughout the Quad Cities.
Over the years, the Common Chord has grown to become a deeply-rooted, community-based organization. It has played an important role in the exponential growth of the local music scene. Common Chord builds on the Quad Cities’ rich musical history, while supporting up-and-coming musicians, engaging young learners, and even providing concerts by nationally-recognized touring musicians.
Common Chord is an evolution that is all about being more inclusive and focusing on amplifying the power of music to build connections and strengthen community. Common Chord continually grows and changes in response to the community’s needs. Free live music opportunities provide financial accessibility to all members of our community. Common Chord’s wide variety of education programs are intentionally diverse, reaching people in all communities, of all financial and social statuses, and of all levels of development and ability.
